Wooliza’s adorable needle-felted animals and wet-felted wonders are now being carefully crafted in Nepal by skilled Women of HillYarn!
The company Hillyarn was founded in 2010, with a mission to empower local women artisans in Bhaktapur, providing fair wages and a safe working envionrment.
With over 25 skilled artisans working in both wet-felting and needle felting, their practice is sustainable, using New Zealand wool, and natural soaps and materials.

There-dimensional needle felting is newer technique for the Bhaktapur artisans, who are all well versed in traditional wet-felting techniques.
After carefully studying the tutorials from Wooliza’s Felting Kits, lead Artisan Sarita hand-crafted the entire first batch of 100 animal miniatures single-handedly! With all the hanging ornament cords being added by artisan Sabita.
With Sarita’s guidance and expertise- and Wooliza’s video tutorials- all the women artists at Hillyarn will soon be cell versed in both wet and needle felting techniques!
